crimp, wave, straighten & shine
While waves and curls were very big in 2001, both sleek, straight styles and crimped hair is back with a vengeance for 2002. Now you can crimp, wave, straighten and shine with one of each set of these 4 easy-to-change plates or mix 'em up: a few crimped or waved strands to vary a straight style.
- To crimp, use the crimping plate. Place fairly wide strand of hair between crimp plates. Starting near hair roots; hold a few seconds, release, then move tool down to crimp next section of hair strand.
- To wave, repeat the process above, using the medium wave or wide wave plate. Place wide strand of hair between two waving plates, hold, then move down to next section of strand.
- To straighten, install straight plates. Then place strand of hair between two straightening plates, and gently, slowly draw tool down entire strand. Repeat over whole head.
- To shine straight hair, place strand of hair between the straight, smooth plates, and gently, slowly draw the iron down each strand. Repeat over whole head. - You can also use these plates first to shine hair before crimping or waving.
