Lookin' Good
Foundations, these days, are more
sheer than ever. They blend and absorb. They're made to match every skin type
and tone imaginable. They, generally speaking, can give you a fresh (vs. fake)
finish. They can conceal while allowing your skin to breathe. And, as every
fresh-faced, even-toned, radiant girl knows, it's essential to lay a good
foundation. By sponge, by brush, by fingers -- you choose. Where cover-up is
concerned, sheer perfection is actually attainable.
Facials
All facials have some basic procedures in common:
cleansing, surface-impurity extraction, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing.
This service will include all of these steps, using pure products to accomplish
them. First, your skin will be cleansed of makeup and dirt. A steamer may be
used to relax your pores to allow easier removal of surface impurities like
blackheads and whiteheads. Then a compound of gentle but coarse exfoliating
ingredients will be massaged lightly into your skin. Depending on the
ingredients, the exfoliator is sometimes left to dry and other times removed
immediately with a warm, moist cloth. Then a toner will be patted or misted on
to refine the pores; this may be applied before or after the moisturizing step.
Moisturizing may be accomplished with a masque that is brushed on and left to
dry, or with lotions that are removed after only a few minutes. Sometime during
the procedure, you'll have some facial massage. This helps to firm and tone the
muscles, as well as relax them. You'll be surprised at how much tension you can
hold in your face, particularly your temples and jaw.
